Guides and rules
Getting Started
For you if you're new to BeanPool.
The three ways in: the global community (opening to everyone soon), find or start a community near you, or join with an invite. Then your 12 words and your first trade.
The Rules
For you if you want every number.
Beans, credit lines, fees, gifts, limits and how trades settle, all in one place.
Members' guide
For you if you're already in a community.
How to post, trade, message, vote and keep your account safe. The same guide is inside the app: tap the bean at the top left of the phone app, or the ? in the web app.
Running a community
For you if you want to start or run a community.
What it takes to run your community's own server, and how to set one up.
The operator manual is on your community's server: sign in to Settings (your server's address followed by /settings) and press Manual in the side bar, or the ? beside a screen's title. Only its First-time setup page is on this website, in the guide.
Safety and your data
Safety
For anyone worried about harm on BeanPool.
How we keep children safe, how to report something, and how to reach us.
Privacy
For anyone who wants to know what is stored.
What your community's server keeps about you, and why.
Terms
For anyone using BeanPool.
The agreement you make when you use the app.
Data deletion
For you if you want your data gone.
How to delete a connected account, or your whole BeanPool account.
Writing to us
Here is who reads what you send, and how soon.
A report on the global community. We run the global community, so a report you make in the app there comes to us, and we look at it within a day.
A report in a local community. It goes to that community's own moderators, not to us.
An email. Write to [email protected] and you get a reply within two days. Never send us your 12 words. Anyone who has your 12 words can use your account. Nobody from BeanPool or your community will ever ask for them.
Something about a child's safety: report it in the app first, then see Safety.
