When a deal goes wrong
Cancelling a deal, and what happens when you cannot agree.
Talk first
Most problems are a misunderstanding. Tap Message on the post and talk it through.
Cancelling
- Before it is agreed: the person who asked taps Withdraw Request. The person who posted a Need taps Deny, then Decline, and can add a short message. A request nobody answers ends by itself after 7 days.
- While the beans are held: either of you can tap Cancel Trust Hold, then Yes, Cancel. All the held beans go back to the person paying, and the post goes back on the market. The other person is told.
Either person can cancel alone, at any time before the beans are released. That includes after the work is done. If that happens to you, talk to them, and then to your community's admins.
When you cannot agree
There is no "dispute" button in the app. Ask the admins of your community for help. They look after its server, and they can settle a stuck deal in one of three ways:
- pay the seller (the normal 1.5% fee applies);
- give all the beans back to the buyer;
- split them half and half.
An admin cannot settle a deal they are part of, or one involving an enterprise they keep.
If someone is not honest
- Leave a fair review. Low stars reduce the trust they earn.
- Report their post, or block them. See "Reporting a problem" and "Blocking someone".
