Getting help
Where to look when you are stuck, and who to ask.
Look it up
- The ? at the top: on every tab, tap ? for a short note on the screen you are on. From there, Read the guide page opens the page about it, Search the guide opens this guide's search, and Take the tour again shows you round the tabs once more.
- This guide: search it for a word, like "gift" or "photo".
- The โ buttons: many screens have a small โ. Tap it for a short explanation of that screen. The Ledger has several.
- The pricing guide: on the phone, in Settings, under Community Pricing Guide, tap Browse 500+ Item Estimates to see what things usually cost in Beans. In the web app, tap ๐ก Pricing Guide in the Market. On the phone it is there only where your community uses Beans; the web app hides it on the global community.
Ask a person
- About a trade: message the other person first. Most problems are misunderstandings. On the post, tap Message.
- About a person or a trade that has gone wrong: talk to the admins of your community. They look after its server, and they can step in on a stuck trade.
- No community yet: join the global community and ask there: people from everywhere, and a way to find a community near you. On a phone, beanpool.org/global opens the BeanPool app right at its way in, or your app store first if you don't have the app. See "Joining BeanPool".
- About the app itself: visit beanpool.org. You can open it from Settings, under BeanPool.
- Running a community yourself: the owners and admins who run a community's server have their own manual, in that server's Settings: sign in and press Manual: running your community in the side bar.
- Getting into Settings: owners and admins see Community admin in the phone app's Settings. Manage and your community's name opens its Settings on the phone. A moderator sees Community moderation, with Moderate and the community's name, which opens the reports. On a computer, open Settings in a web browser and choose Sign in with your phone, then in the app tap Manage this community from a computer (a moderator sees Moderate this community from a computer; older apps: Sign in on a computer) and scan the code. Check the 6-character code on the phone matches the one on the computer before you tap Sign in. If the phone then shows two digits, type them on the computer within 30 seconds.
When something is not right
- If a post is a scam, offensive or misleading, report it. See "Reporting a problem".
- If someone is bothering you, block them. See "Blocking someone".
- If you haven't joined the global community and it can't be reached, the Global community row in the BeanPool sheet (tap the bean at the top left) says Can't reach it right now. While you are connected to another community you are a member of, a line under it says Your own community isn't affected. The global community is one community among many. Your own community runs on its own server and never needs it, so everything else works as before.
Safety pages
In Settings, under Legal & Privacy, you can read the Privacy Policy, the Terms of Service & EULA and the Child Safety Standards. They open on beanpool.org.
