The Pulse

What your neighbours make and share elsewhere, in one feed.

What it is

Open the Pulse from the The Pulse card on Home: tap a post, or tap See all. If you have hidden the card, bring it back with Edit home. On the phone you can also open it from Settings, under The Pulse.

The Pulse gathers what members of your community post on other sites: videos, music, blogs, photos. It is a way to find out what your neighbours make and do.

Pull down to refresh.

The buttons along the top slide away as you scroll down. Scroll up a little and they come back.

Opening a post

A YouTube video: tap the picture, with the ▶ on it, and the video plays here in the card. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you tap — scrolling past a video sends nothing to anyone. Tap the button in the corner of the video to fill the screen.

The video stops when you scroll it out of sight, when you leave the Pulse, and when you start a different one. Only one plays at a time.

Everything else — TikTok, Instagram, a blog, a website: tap the picture or the title and it opens in your browser or in that site's own app.

You can always open a video on YouTube instead: tap the title, or Open on YouTube ↗ underneath it. If a video will not play here — some people do not allow their videos to play outside YouTube, and some phones cannot — the card says so and offers you that button.

Something wrong with a post

You cannot hide someone else's post just for yourself.

Adding your own

Tap + Channels at the top. See "Sharing your channels".

The same guide is in the BeanPool app, and works there without a connection: open Settings, then "Help & how it works" under BeanPool. Every other rule, guide and manual is in the Help Centre. Guide version 112.
