Your Shop
A front window on your own account, for the Offers you choose, under one name.
What a shop is
Your shop is a front window on your own account. It holds the Offers you put in it, under one name, with a few words about it. Beans from them are yours, as for any Offer. It is not an enterprise: nobody else keeps it, and it shows nothing your Offers don't already show.
You have one shop in each community you are in.
Opening it
Open Your shop from the Home card Your shop and tools, or from Tools. To put the card on Home, use Edit home and add Your shop and tools.
Tap Open my shop. Until you give it a name, it is called after you: "Ana's shop".
Its name, category and words
Each of these is one field. Fill them in any order, or not at all:
- Name: up to 60 characters. Leave it empty to be called after you again.
- Category: one of the Market's categories, the same ones every listing has, such as Tools, Food or Tech. It helps neighbours find you and picks the tools shown. It changes nothing else.
- About: what it is, in a few words.
- How I deal: where to pick things up, and when they come back.
- Banner photo: one photo across the top of your shop, as members see it, three times as wide as it is tall. Tap it to choose one, or to change it: move the photo and zoom it until the strip you want is in the frame, then tap Done. That strip is what members see. Remove the banner photo takes it down. Until you choose a banner photo, the top shows your picture, faded and repeated, on your shop's category colour.
How members see it
Tap See it as members do on Your shop. It shows your shop as other members here see it: its banner photo, its name, category and since when, your picture and trust level, About, the Offers you feature, its Offers in sections (To buy, Book a time, To borrow), How I deal, and a Message button that opens a chat with you. To change it, tap Change your shop.
Putting Offers in it
Only your own Offers for everyone here go in a shop. A Need, or an Offer for a group or one person, stays out.
- When you edit an Offer: tick Put this in your shop, or untick it to take the Offer out.
- Add my live Offers: on Your shop, tick the Offers you already have up and tap Put them in my shop.
- From a tool: when you list something from a tool, Put this in your shop is ticked. If you have no shop yet, it opens with that Offer. You can change its title or words on the new Offer form and it still goes in. If you change it completely, or post something else instead, it goes up outside your shop and the app tells you. To put it in, open it, tap Edit Post and tick Put this in your shop.
The new Offer form on the map has no tick yet. Post the Offer, then put it in from its edit screen or from Your shop.
Closing it for now
Tap Close for now. You can say when you are back: in a week, in two weeks or in a month. Its Offers come off the Market and wait. Nothing goes in while it is closed, and none of its Offers can be put back up on its own.
Tap Reopen my shop to put them back. An Offer you paused yourself stays paused, whether you paused it before you closed the shop or while it was closed. One you ended stays ended, and one you took out of the shop from its edit screen stays paused, outside the shop.
In the Tool shed, Lent to someone outside BeanPool and Delete pause a thing's Offer for you while the shop is closed, so it stays off the Market when you reopen. Take out of your shop is not there while it is closed, but a thing you took out before you closed it stays out.
Closing it
Tap Close my shop. Its Offers stay in the Market as ordinary Offers, or end too if you choose End its Offers too. Your private tool lists stay on your phone. You can open a new shop any time.
You can't close it, or close it for now, while a deal on one of its things is asked for or under way. The app says how many deals are open, with a button to Your deals.
On the global community
A shop works the same on the global community. Someone who has not joined sees its category and how many things are in it, never its name, its banner photo or your name.
In the web app
Both the phone and the web app show shops the same way: you can open your shop, change its name, category, words and banner photo, put Offers in or take them out, visit other members' shops, and close it. Listing from the Tool shed opens the composer with Put this in your shop ticked by default if you have a shop.
Your private tool lists stay in phone device storage on the phone, and in browser storage in the web app.
